Internship I and Student Teaching
|
Internship I |
In the fall of 2007, I was placed at Trenton Central High School (Chambers Street Campus) to do my Internship I program. My cooperating teacher was Mr. Barry Conboy, and my intern partner was Jill Studnicki. The courses in which we interned were American History I (with mostly sophomores), and American History II (with mostly juniors and a few seniors). Despite initial trepidation at being placed in Trenton, I was surprisingly pleased with the progress of the semester. I formed good bonds with a number of the students in my classes, and ultimately enjoyed the experience. |

Student Teaching |
A year after my Internship I, I was place for my student teaching at Harry S Truman High School in Bristol Township, Pennsylvania. My cooperating teacher there as Mr. Chet Zaremba, a veteran teacher with more than 40 years experience in the classroom. I progressed from observing the class to full control of the class over the course of the semester. I had five classes per day, each of them filled with juniors there for American History II. The classes were a mix of students needing special attention, and 'A' students, but I feel that I managed to tailor my lessons to reach all of them. By the end of the semester, I think I'd established a good rapport with the kids, and I find I actually miss them. |
